CERTIFIED HOSPITALITY TRAINER (CHT) PROGRAM OPEN TO GRADUATES IN HOSPITALITY ADMINISTRATION

Aimed at providing teaching and training skills  to eligible candidates, so that they can apply for contractual teaching jobs in affiliated Institutes of Hotel Management against their advertisement.

 

Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Hospitality & Hotel Administration (1st Division) from NCHMCT-IGNOU or 4 years Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management (1st Division) from Institutes approved by AICTE and affiliated to a recognized University may apply for enrollment to above program, which will begin from 15th July, 2011 at Institute of Hotel Management at the above given address ;

 

The program fee is fully funded by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to create a pool of qualified and trained faculty who can apply for contractual appointment to faculty positions in Hotel management Institutes/ Food Craft Institutes affiliated with NCHMCT, as and when such vacancies are notified.

 

Assistanceship up to Rs.10000/- per month to meet the cost of living shall be paid to the candidates who are enrolled to the program.

Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) Program

(An eight-week program to develop teaching training skills to hospitality graduates)

Commencement of program                                      :               15th of July 2011

Completion of program                                                :               8th of Sept 2011

Term end Examination & Presentation                                  :               12th to 16th Sept-2011

Centralized Evaluation at NCHMCT HQ                 :               between 30th Sept to 06th oct-2011

Result declaration by NCHMCT- on its website  :               on  10th of Oct 2011           

 

·                     The program shall start with the intake of 25 students from 15thJuly 2011.  (seats shall be announced  as per  reservation policy ).I.e. SC/15%, ST7.5%, OBC 27%- reservation 3% across Board for all categories.

 

·                     The cost of the program shall be funded under Ministry of Tourism’s Scheme of Capacity Building for Service Providers for which institute shall make request to HRD Division of the Ministry directly after enrolment of students to the CHT2011.

 

·                     The program shall be the full time program of 2 months (8 weeks) duration (7 hrs. x 6 days/week) with last week earmarked for term-end examinations and presentation. 

 

·                     The enrolled graduates shall have undergo intensive training at the Institute beside self studies.

 

Role of the Principal or Local Coordinator (CHT) appointed by Principal of the Institute:

 

·               Draw out time table for theory , practical and presentations. 

 

·                     Provide logistic support for smooth conduct of the training program and maintain all records of assessment, presentations, examinations of the program;

 

·                     Identify faculty with Master’s in education with experience on part time basis from recognized BED, MED colleges.

 

·                     Identify Internal senior faculty, one from Food production and other from Accommodation for specialized teaching operations, with whom graduate trainees shall also be attached as understudy;

 

·                     Provide slots for class teaching as per time-table of B.Sc. 2nd year to learn, practical aspects of teaching , delivery of lecture and management of class  (Max of 4 classes  after 4th week of studies, 2 practical classes and 2 theory classes) in case of each candidate.

 

·                     Each faculty to maintain performance/learning appraisals of graduates provided by Trainers/Teachers;

·                     Arrange for industry visits for project work;

 

·                     Logistic support for term-end theory examinations/invigilators;

 

·                     Provide trainee kits to all the participants; as per CBSP scheme of Govt. of India. (Copy of scheme available in the website of MOT www. tourism. govt. in)

 

·                     Maintain proper record of receipts and expenditure of funds and furnish utilization certificate to Ministry of Tourism directly.

 

·                     Provide list of faculty/trainers and registered students to NCHMCT with their CV’s for record and reference by email immediately after the commencement of the program.

 

Other Responsibilities of Host Institute:

 

·                     Advertise the program on All India basis (one English are one Hindi news paper) by or befor-15th of June 2011 Last date of   receipt of application 05th of july-2011(circulate the directing by mail to other IHMs affiliated with NCHMCT with prominent display on your website).

 

·                      Receive applications and prepare database from which top 25 candidates based on merit be offered admission (under General/SC/ST/OBC (central list) with (PH across Board).Category wise merit list shall be prepared. In case of any tie-in merit all candidates in tie shall be given admission. List to be displayed on website on 10th  July, 2011 with directions. The wait list candidates if any may be allowed admissions before actual commencement of session.

 

·                     Certificates to be awarded to Candidates declared successful by NCHMCT. Text of certificate shall be provided by NCHMCT.

 

·                     List of successful Graduates be forwarded to all IHMs for contractual appointment against vacancies.

 

Responsibility NCHMCT

 

·                     Set question papers for theory papers and conduct examination, evaluation thereof in Oct 2011.

·                     Declaration result on the website of NCHMCT by 10th Oct-2011.

 

Responsibility of Ministry of Tourism:

 

·                     Provide necessary funds to IHMs for the CHT program directly based on enrollment list furnished by the each IHM.
